Principal Software Engineer

Require Security is an early-stage MIT spin-off providing advanced protections against software supply chain threats. We have developed best-in-class technologies to help developers understand and secure open-source software libraries on which their applications depend.

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer with 5+ years of software SaaS development experience, preferably in cybersecurity services. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people that will lead the development of our SaaS offering including dashboards, data architecture, cloud offerings, customer analytics, and billing / licensing infrastructure.

As a key member of the engineering team, you will work directly with the founding team and research engineers in an exciting environment, developing tools with unrivaled capabilities. Require will change how organizations protect their applications from malice and vulnerabilities in 3rd party libraries. You will employ trusted techniques and best practices for building our SaaS offering, guiding our tool choices and development procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Be responsible for key middleware and customer-facing components of the platform.
• Design and lead implementation of our data and analytics pipeline.
• Develop vital integrations between our implanted sensors and SIEM tools.
• Implement solutions using iterative processes, Agile development methodologies and test-driven development.
• Implement services that are highly available, fault tolerant, using cutting edge technological concepts such as NoSQL and distributed messaging frameworks.

Experience and qualifications include:

• 5+ years developing SaaS cloud platform software for security, virtualization, provisioning, backup, cloning, network storage, or similar server technology.
• Knowledge of and experience with NoSQL, search, and indexing technologies, e.g., ElasticSearch and OpenSearch.
• Experienced developer in Javascript, Java, Python, and other cool languages.
• Experience using or implementing REST APIs.
• Clear understanding of the operational impacts of implementation decisions.
• Knowledge of, and experience with, Agile methodologies and test-driven development.

We have beautiful offices in downtown Boston, MA, but are open to fully remote applicants.
